Happy New Year everyone! We're really excited to kick off another 10 week session of Mother Goose. We're going to start this program virtually due to current Covid-19 outbreak. Mother Goose will take place every Thursday from 11-11:30am on Zoom starting on January 20th. Mother Goose runs in 10 week intervals, if it is safe enough before the 10 weeks is up we will return to in-person programming. Mother Goose will then pivot from online to in-person. In the registration you will have an option to register for only virtual programming or to attend virtually and in-person (if we can). If we do end up transitioning to in-person we will accept the first 10 who picked virtual & in-person.

I will send out the Zoom link to registered participants closer to the program date.

Community Cultural Circle welcomes individuals of all walks of life. Its purpose is to introduce participants to the rudimentary concepts of Indigenous traditions through teachings, sharing knowledge, and participation in ceremony. Participants engage in an introduction talking circle, a smudging ceremony, and First Nations drumming as well as receive teachings for each of these practices. Community Culture Circle allows a safe, nonjudgmental space for community members to come together, share their stories, and enjoy each other's company as they connect with the roots of Indigenous culture. It allows spiritual connection to ourselves and/or the Creator, reflecting upon a holistic approach to self-care and self-exploration through an Indigenous lens.

    Atelihai Inuit!
Please join us on January 27th for a movie night! We will be showing Qallunaat! Why White People Are Funny. This film highlights the struggles of how Inuit have adapted to now living in a white predominant country, while also poking fun at the Qallunaat and how they have treated Inuit as "exotic documentary pieces."
So grab a bowl of popcorn, get comfortable on the couch for this fun movie!
Please note that priority to attend Inuit Program is given to Inuit participants.

During our virtual programs, First Light may provide activity kits that are to be picked up via no-contact pickup on a designated pickup day which will be relayed after you register for the program. We kindly ask all participants with access to a vehicle or alternate pickup person that they use this service. If anyone has barriers to picking up their materials (if needed), please contact amena@firstlightnl.ca
