    First Light is a registered non-profit organization that serves the urban Indigenous and non-Indigenous community alike by providing programs and services rooted in the revitalization, strengthening and celebration of Indigenous cultures and languages in the spirit of trust, respect, and friendship. 

    First Light is so excited to be bringing back our 5 day after school youth program! This is just an application process, this is not final registration for the program. We will be prioritizing Indigenous families, First Light staff members children, anyone who as attended previous after school programs, our day care after school program and our regular weekly programming. Please note that we are not offering transportation to this program. Our youth program will be a safe, non-judgmental space for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to come together and participate in both cultural and non-cultural activities. This program will focus on their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being through activities. Such as, homework hour, crafts, drumming, outdoor time, book club, and more. We will be incorporating First Lights mission into our program, focusing on trust, respect and friendship among the youth and staff.  

    Your child will be expected to bring appropriate clothing, such as indoor footwear, rain gear etc. As well, please bring a water bottle and any technology that they like to use. We will be providing snacks.

    Please join us on Thursday Oct 21st at 6:00pm at 716 Water Street for Pul√Ęk. Feel free to bring your own craft, cards, boardgames, or anything you are working on. Spaces are limited so please be sure to register in order to attend. Priority is given to Inuit Participants. 

    Transportation is available within St. John's City limits. Masks are now mandatory. We kindly ask that you stay at home if:

    a) you have had any of the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:

    -Fever (including chills or sweats)

    - Cough (new or worsening)

    - Shortness or breath/difficulty breathing

    - Sore throat or difficulty swallowing

    - unusual headache

    - Unusual fatigue or lack of energy or muscle aches

    - Loss of appetite

    - Vomiting or diarrhea

    - Loss of smell or taste

    - Unusual Runny, stuffy nose

    - Red or purple spots on hands or feet.

    b) You have been in close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID 19 in the last 14 days.

    c) You have been advised to self-isolate for any reason.

    Hello Seniors (50+)! 

    Please join us on Friday October 22nd at 12:00pm for Wisdom Circle. We will be meeting at 42 Bannerman street for lunch and an afternoon making fall decor with mason jars. Spaces are limited so please be sure you are registered in order to attend. 

    Transportation is available within St. John's City limits. Masks are now mandatory. We kindly ask that you stay at home if:

    Please join the Breathe Program for a needle felting session at 40 Quidi Vidi Rd. Child-minding and transportation is available! 

    Breathe provides a safe space for parents to practice self-care while engaging in peer-support. It is open to participants spanning the pre-natal to grandparent stages.
